Why Is Ahmadinejad Smiling?

Under President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's strategy of making Iran the dominant power or hegemon in the Middle East proceeds along a predictable course while both the US and Israel "dither." The most dangerous point, is the faction uniting component of a violent philosophy. Before the Iranian rise to prominence, Israel could still say, "at least they are fighting amongst themselves."

Besides security measures, perhaps the Middle Eastern stakeholders should put some time and money into philosophical reform on their ideas of violence, rule of law and human to human relationships.

Perhaps the only long-term solution to instill the seed of doubt, rational and self-reflectiveness in their religio-political discourse. The situation will certainly change with a revolution of ideas, and mass adoption.

Of course, this is wishful thinking ... but we can all hope.
